How to Shorten a URL
5 min read
What you need
Nothing. No account, no browser extension, no app. All you need is a long URL you want to make shorter, and a browser. Nigga Link is completely free and requires zero sign-up.
Step 1 — Paste your URL
Go to nigga.run and paste your long URL into the input field. You can paste anything: a product page, a Google Doc, a YouTube video, a shared folder — any valid URL works.
The field already shows https:// so you only need to paste the rest. If your URL already starts with https:// that is fine too — the tool handles it either way.
Step 2 — Choose auto-generated or custom text
By default, clicking shorten → generates a random code starting at just 3 characters — something like nigga.run/k4m. That is already extremely short.
If you want a memorable or branded link, toggle customize link before shortening. You can type anything from 3 to 32 characters using letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores. Your custom text becomes the slug: nigga.run/your-text-here.
Step 3 — Copy your short link
Hit the copy button next to your new short link and it goes straight to your clipboard. Share it anywhere — in a message, a post, an email, a presentation, or print it on a flyer.
Bonus: download the QR code
Every link automatically gets a QR code generated in your browser. Click ↓ download QR to save a high-resolution PNG you can drop into a poster, a slide deck, or a product label. The QR image is never uploaded to our servers — it is generated entirely on your device.
Check your click stats anytime
Add a + to the end of any Nigga Link short URL to see its stats page. For example, if your link is nigga.run/abc, open nigga.run/abc+ to see the total click count and the date it was created. No login required — the stats are always public.
Tips for getting the most out of short links
- Use custom text for links you share publicly — it builds trust and looks more professional than a random code.
- Keep custom slugs short and lowercase:
sale,menu-2026,signup. - Print the QR code on physical materials so people can scan directly instead of typing a URL.
- Bookmark the stats page (
yourlink+) to check performance without a dashboard.
Ready to shorten your first link? It takes about two seconds.
