Random codes vs. custom slugs

How to create a custom short link on Nigga Link

1. Go to nigga.run.
2. Paste your long URL into the input field.
3. Toggle customize link — a second input appears.
4. Type your chosen slug. Allowed characters: lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens (-), and underscores (_). Minimum 3 characters, maximum 32.
5. Hit shorten →. If the slug is already taken, you will be told immediately so you can pick another.

That is it. No account, no approval process. First come, first served.

Good slug naming conventions

A few patterns that work well in practice:

• Campaign + year — black-friday-2026, launch-jan
• Content type — deck, report, signup, demo
• Product or event name — summit, app-download, menu
• Channel-specific — ig, yt, email-june so you can compare click stats per channel

Keep slugs lowercase and prefer hyphens over underscores — they are easier to read and less likely to cause issues when shared in some apps.

Checking who clicked

Every Nigga Link custom link has a stats page. Append a + to the slug: if your link is nigga.run/summer-sale, open nigga.run/summer-sale+ to see total clicks and the creation date. No login, no dashboard — just a public stats page anyone with the URL can visit.

Custom links vs. your own domain

Nigga Link custom slugs give you control over the path but the domain stays nigga.run. If you need the full URL on your own domain (like go.yourcompany.com/summer-sale), you would need a self-hosted shortener or a paid branded-domain service.

For most personal and small-business use cases, a custom slug on a very short domain is plenty. It is free, instant, and requires no DNS configuration.
